RUSTON 20RK270 Fast Ferry Overhaul

We recently completed the overhaul of 4 x RUSTON 20RK270 engines on a Fast Ferry operating in Europe to prepare the vessel for the forthcoming European holiday season.

All four engines had to be retimed and extensive inspection of the engines was needed due to the vessel being stood down from operations for months during the close season. Retiming is a detailed process which cannot be rushed and when there are 80 Cylinders to do you know how many capscrews are fitted by the time the job is finished!. With the customer also requesting the timing to be checked on two more 20RK270’s on another vessel it gave the grand total of 120 x RK270 Cylinders being completed within the time allocated prior to the vessels going into service for the summer.
