RUSTON 6RK270 and RKC powered Tugs

2013 saw us carry out a number of overhaul, repair, parts supply and engine familiarity projects on RUSTON powered Tugs with a diverse collection of customers with differing needs and requirements.

One project saw EDS contracted by an international towage company to assist them with some RUSTON 6RK270 powered Tugs they had acquired from a UK Tug operator. The contract involved carrying out an overhaul of the RUSTON 6RK270 main engines and the Gardner generators, including supplying all the spare parts required and the customer also requested that our engineers assist their staff in learning how to operate and maintain the 6RK270 engines. A second contract from the same customers saw us doing the same with a couple of RUSTON 6RKCM powered Tugs they purchased.

Another Tug operator contracted us to supply spare parts and service engineers for a Tug powered by two RUSTON 12RKCM engines, which again saw us supply the complete Spare Parts & Service Package. Customers appreciate the peace of mind that comes with knowing the service engineers provided worked on the vessels numerous times while working for the engine builder themselves, including in numerous cases actually installing and commissioning the RUSTON engines.
